So frustrated..

I am so frustrated. It took as almost 3 months to get through the colic with my son. Once it was gone he was a wonderful baby. I would swaddle him at night and rock him a little in his bassinet and he would sleep. He still got up at three to eat but he was asleep. Now I feel like we are going backwards. He fusses all day long. He fights sleep. Last night he was up till 12:30! I couldn't take it I put him in the swing. He is 3 1/2 months old. I thought we were moving forward but now we took two steps back. He has no temp. but he does look like he got longer overnight. Do growth spurts hurt? I'm clueless and overtired.

My DH swears that growth spurts hurt but I don't know. Sounds like he's definitely overtired to me. And it's natural for them to start fighting sleep at this age because as they become more aware of their surroundings they want to stay up to explore and get attention. Try taking away all stimulation from him (toys, bouncer, etc) well before he show signs of tiredness and then put him down for a nap while he's still awake. Try to develop a nap time routine.

Good luck - I hope he sleeps more for you soon! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Could this be the start of teething?

def not the formula, when we had issues with that we knew...he would scream. I think it might be teething too. Last night was a little better he slept at 11.

Re: So frustrated..

Just some words of encouragment -- my brother's daughter was SO cranky and fussy and hard to deal with when she was a few months old. She had REALLY bad acid reflux. She is a year old now and things have gotten so much better. I swear that because she's no longer uncomfortable it just makes her that much more of a happy baby.

Your son will get there. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
