So frustrated...OB visit vent(sorry long)
Went for my 30 week visit today. Everytime I leave that office I feel like an idiot and I know nothing. They tell me something different each time. I guess that has to do with the fact that there are 6 doctors you have to see because any of them could be delivering. With my son I ended up with a c-section because after 20 hours of labor he wouldn't budge. This time I wanted to try a VBAC. Every doctor I have seen so far said we can decide at 36 weeks. Todays doctor said I will have to have a c-section again because there is no way I will be able to get this baby out. Once you carry big babies you will always have big babies. My DS was 7lbs 15oz. Thats not that big. Then she told me I am gaining to much wait and to start eating salads and cut my carbs. I have gained 27lbs so far this pregnancy. That doesn't seem like a lot. Also with DS I had polyhydramnios (too much amniotic fluid). I asked the dr. last time what are the chances that will happen again and she said very very low. I asked the same question this week and the dr. said I probably will. Different answers each time I go. One visit they tell me I am anemic and put me on extra iron. This visit she said i am not anemic and to stop the iron. ***!!!!! I am sooo confused. Vent over. Thanks!!!

That is annoying!
Can you tell them next time you've gotten different answers every time from someone different?
I'm sorry you have to deal with that!

Sorry to hear about such frustrations. I have had many frustrations with doctors myself. I think it is a good idea to talk to someone about this at the practice. Maybe go in with a list of questions, try to get definitive answers, and mention how you are getting different answers and that you really need some more solid and consistent information. Good luck!

Re: So frustrated...OB visit vent(sorry long)
i feel sooo bad 27lbs is not a lot at 30w my dr said 25-35lbs is normal for a woman that was normal weight to gain.
2nd i was a big baby and my dh was a big baby 8lbs 9ounces me and dh 9lbs 12ounces and we were both vaginals.
2nd i was 8lbs and my sister 2nd baby was 7lbs. she was soo tiny when she was born how is 7lbs considered big?
3rd i hate big offices thats why i left my first ob, they were rude, too busy to listen, made u feel like an idiot.
can you speak to ur regular ob and tell them how u feel? i think its best to get consistent results so u know whats going on with ur body and u know what u should be doing
best of luck.

Change doctors! It is not too late and if you feel uncomfortable and they are not willing to consider a VBAC for you it is time to find someone who will. I bet they're saying they'll decide at 36 weeks because if they tell you no it is too late to switch.

I would call up the doctors office and tell them that you are confused by the conflicting stories from the different ob's. Make them aware of it. One if not all of them should be able to get together to look over your file and come up with a conclusion and road that they will all follow with your pregnancy. Hope it gets better.

Re: So frustrated...OB visit vent(sorry long)
my advice?? (if you want it...) is switch....I switched first time around at 32 weeks and couldn't have been happier with my choice!!! it made labor and everything that much better and i was able to enjoy my pregnancy rather than be stressed and frustrated!

Re: So frustrated...OB visit vent(sorry long)
Thank you all so much for your advice. My DH and I have a list of questions for the next visit and the conflicting information is on the list. I want one answer not 5 different answers. We will see what they say then decide after that if we will switch. We are definitely switching next time around. No more big offices for me.
