So hard to buy clothes! What are you wearing this summer?
I got tired if not having "anything to wear" so I decided to go shopping for myself this morning, looking for shorts or capri pants , couple of dresses and few tops. I'm 24 weeks, I have gained mainly around my belly area, my boobs and my face, lol, everyone is telling me I'm tiny, but I'm not, I am huge for my frame and compared to how I was with my DD around the same time. So anyway, I spent almost 3 hours at Queens mall , but I barely found anything. First I went to motherhood maternity, tried on few shorts in S and M , few capris but they all looked terrible on me and most of them just didn't fit right, too big or something (Plus IMO their quality is terrible and they are SO overpriced!) Then I went to H&M didn't find anything, finally decided to check out F21 , I looked, and looked and looked, after I was done walking around and in tears from being in pain (still have that terrible pain in my groin /lower back area) and from frustration I decided on 1 maxi dress and a cute top, then on the way to my car I saw another maxi dress in the window at another store so bought that too. So that's all I got, after all that time and walking around 2maxi dresses and 1 top I decided to wear a maxi dress to go pick up DD and I was so hot I thought I was going to pass out! So I don't think maxi dresses will be very comfortable when it's very hot out. So if you are on a smaller side what are you buying and where do you buy clothes ?

I'm 24 weeks too. I got a lot of summer clothes on OldNavy.com. I am still wearing some non-maternity shirts too..Gap clothes always seem big to me so I am wearing some shirts from there.
I did find some stuff at Motherhood Maternity - they have these thin roll-up cargo capris that are super comfy and jean shorts too.
I think I am too short for maxi dresses but Gap has a super soft skirt with a fold down waist I think I will live in this summer!

I got all my summer stuff at Old Navy and Gap, but mostly Old Navy. They have GREAT comfy dresses maxi and regular knee length which you can also wear to work. Wearing one today actually! LOL I found Old Navy to have the best stuff! Their T shirts are light weight and comfy, their shorts fit incredible and are sooo comfy. Plus their prices are great and they always have sales or coupon codes.
And because I too was uncomfortable walking around I ordered online and just skipped all of that...

Re: So hard to buy clothes! What are you wearing this summer?
I cannot help with clothes dept as I went to destination maternity and got a few knee length dresses. But for the groin pain I got a Medela pregnancy support belt from bru and it's about $25 and has saved my life! It goes around the bottom of your tummy and when u out it on you will say to yourself that this belt is a piece of garbage.. As that's what. I said to myself but the little compression that it offers does wonders! I wear it when I know I'm going to be on my feet for long. Like shopping or I when I'm in the gym

Re: So hard to buy clothes! What are you wearing this summer?
So far I've gotten a couple pairs of shorts and a couple of tops at Kohls. It does take patience finding maternity clothes that fit right. Some things I try on look ridiculous but I was lucky to find a few things that fit well. I plan to mostly wear maternity shorts/capris/yoga pants with maternity tank tops and also some light summer dresses. I got a cute knee length maternity dress at Target.

I just bought a bunch of tank tops from ON during their $2 sale last weekend. I just bought 2 sizes bigger in regular womens. They fit really good. I have lots of shorts and capris and skirts from ON, kohls, motherhood and I have a few maxi dresses and skirts too.

I agree, the long dresses are HOT. I usually hike them up like a big sluut while I'm driving or sitting with my legs under a desk or table or at home.

I'm 28 weeks and I got most of my maternity capris/skirts from OldNavy.com using coupons. I'm wearing non-maternity bigger tops and I also saved some pants/capris/dresses from my previous pregnancy. I definitely have enough to last me through August. Target also has a lot of cute maternity stuff. You are tiny so I would get some adjustable waits/string linen capris from VS (inexpensive) or GapBody or even H&M!

Re: So hard to buy clothes! What are you wearing this summer?
Thanks so much everyone, I guess I have to go to ON and or Gap , I really wish I could order online, but it's so hard for me, especiallybuying bottoms :( I don't think there is Gap maternity around me so I guess I have to go to LI. I think the biggest issue for me is that I'm too small for maternity clothes or just don't have the body for it Thanks again !

Icould barely get out of my car and make few steps to pick up Dd , that's how bad it got. It was the worst day so far . I never knew you could get pain like this from being pregnant . took a little nap with DD , woke up and pain is gone

Re: So hard to buy clothes! What are you wearing this summer?
I looked at your pics and you are tiny, although I know it's hard to see that when it's your body. I think that ordering some dresses/skirts from Target.com, ON.com, Gap.com and Kohls.com will be a great starting point for you. I would order a ton, in a couple of sizes, try it all on at home and then send back whatever you don't like. It might seem like a PITA at first, but think of all time the schlepping around from store to store you're saving.
I also have a pr of shorts from ON.com that I really love, and then I've been wearing regular target tanks in a size up, some Liz Lange maternity tank tops from target and a couple of cuter t-shirts from gap and I think destination maternity.

Target - love their maternity jeans and capris
ON - random t's, dresses
Gap - tops, leggngs
I loved sun dresses (or any kind of dress) when I was pregnant with DD. Super comfy and lots of room to grow.

I'm on the small side too and find that empire waisted tops and dresses are perfect for the pregnant ladies!
You don't even have to walk into a maternity store to get those clothes. And they are more stylish and better priced than the maternity stuff.
I shop at Marshalls/TJ Maxx and find plenty for me to wear there.
