So heres where I'm at after 4 days on stims...
Just got back from the Dr. and so far I have (2) 10 mm. on the right with many less than 10mm and on the left I have half a dozen less than 10mm...Lining was a 7 (dont know if that matters just yet??)....They took blood and called me to tell me to lower my Follistim from 150 IU to 100 IU...Whats your take on this for anyone who's gone the IVF route?...The Dr. seems pleased with the numbers but I was thinking for some reason there would be more on the larger size (dont know why, just assumed)...What exactly would be the reason for them lowering my dose ??...I go back on Monday again....Thanks !!!

I know someone will correct me if I'm wrong here since i'm fairly new with this process....if you started stims on CD3 then technically you're on CD7. that being said I was under the impression that stims are exactly that...stimulating your body to produce lots of follicles and ultimately produce lots of eggs not to get your follicles to mature at an excelerated rate. Based upon my three cycles on clomid I never saw a follie bigger than 12 before CD10.

I am doing an IVF cycle so my stims began on CD 15 ( I was on BCP for 10 days prior to that)...Not sure how CD's are counted with an IVF cycle

I am on my fourth day of stims. I went yesterday and had 2 8mm and many small on both sides so I think we are right on target!

you are definitely good. you don't want them to grow too fast. you will definitely see a big difference 4 days from now. it will become very exciting to see how many are maturing. people usually stim anywhere from 8-10 days and sometimes longer. It is much better to have them grow slow and steady.

Thats very good and I think correct to lower dosage. On my IVF on Day 5 of stims, or it may have been day 3, I cant remember , but I had about the same, upwards of 15 showing and most just around 10. ( 2 at 14)..they lowered my dose right away.
I ended up with 15 at retrieval time.

They are lowering your meds because they don't want you to have the bigger ones grow too fast. They want them all to catch up so they will be able to retrieve somewhere around 10 or so.
They also don't want to create more follies, otherwise you may hyperstim.
