So he's getting tubes
I think this is definitely going to help him at least now his consecutive colds will be just that, colds. I hope. Yes, we'll still have to do daily nebulizer treatments for at least the next 6 months but if we can get him off of antibiotics I think he will feel so much better. Just had to get that out. I am feeling tremendous guilt over his constant sickness

Don't feel guilty. There's nothing you are doing to contribute to him being sick, in fact, you're doing everything you can to help him feel better.

Re: So he's getting tubes
Sydney got her tubes about 2 weeks ago and we have already noticed some changes. She is talking a little more and sleeping better...which makes us all very happy. Good luck!

Re: So he's getting tubes
Don't feel guilty at all. I know what you are going through. My son got his tubes the day after his 2nd bday. He was running around the same day and instantly talking more. NO more colds that go into ear infections and high fevers. (relief) He may come out of anesthesia upset but he will be fine shortly after. Good Luck!!!

Re: So he's getting tubes
I know how you feel. DD was on antibotics for over a month due to constant colds/ear infections. She's finally well only because I was able to pull her out of daycare for 3 weeks. We go back on MOnday, if she gets sick again we will talk about tubes as well.
I hope he's feeling better soon!!!

Re: So he's getting tubes
Thank you! The guilt is from having to work and put him in daycare in the first place, however I realize this would be happening once he enters school anyway. I can't wait for him to be healthy, hopefully we can have a good summer after all this!

Re: So he's getting tubes
I know how you feel. My little guy was on antibiotics from December - April. He has been off the antibiotics for 3 weeks now, and no ear infection (knock on wood). We are going to the ent next week to evaluate the sitution. Hopefully he will still be clear then. I know how you feel, and the guilt is horrible. I hope all works out for you and your ds.

Re: So he's getting tubes
Add me to the list. I have a consult with an ENT on Fri for Peyton. She too was on antibiotics from pretty much Oct - April.

Re: So he's getting tubes
I just got back from the ENT - Peyton needs to have tubes put in both ears.
Her surgery is scheduled for June 7
