So... I bought a Clearblue digital OPK
from amazon....
I opened it yesterday and used it for the first time this month. Everything was fine. I go to use it today and its giving me an error no matter what i do! I cant get it to work.. and Im pizzzzzzzed its not like it was cheap!
and no i dont think i accidentally peed on it so I have no idea what its issue is!
I think its a sign. I have been on and off with the idea of putting TTC on hold and I just feel like its a sign that I should! I need hip surgery and part of me feels like I should do that before TTC. I am confused.
but Brook did say I would be preggo now or by may so....

sorry the test isn't working! is there a number on the packaging to call if you get an error? can you contact Clearblue?
hope it all works out with your hip and TTC.

Have you talked to your doctor about the hip surgery? Do you know if it will cause complications for you if you are pregnant? This kind of information may be helpful to you to decide if you are ready for this

I went to my orthopedic surgeon here on LI who diagnosed me with a labreal tear. That is not his speciality so he urged me to see a specialist. He looked for a reall good specialist for me bc he didnt want to send me to someone that is not familiar with this (apparently not many specialists are). So the doc I have to see now is in NJ! I am supposed to go on friday and plan on asking him a million questions and seeing if I can postpone surgery. if not then I am just going to get it over with ASAP since its an 8-12 week recovery time.
but of course I still havent got AF from last month! (BFN's when I test).. so I feel super confused and anxious about everything now.
wow sorry for venting!!
haha an my $40 OPK not working is just the icing on the cake!!!
ETA: we started TTC last month before I found out about the hip issue otherwise I would have waited until after I saw the doc! This month I just wanted to confirm which day I O'ed to compare to last month but we are currently not TTC this month until after my appointment (if i get the ok)

Re: So... I bought a Clearblue digital OPK
If I can give you a little piece of advice from personal experience: Get your hip taken care of FIRST.
I was having some issues with my back while we were TTC, but I've had problems off and on for years--I didn't want to put my life on hold to do something about it.
Well, I went through 7 months of pregnancy in the worst pain I could possibly imagine. I ruptured a disc in my back and needed surgery to repair it. But no one would touch me with a 10-foot pole because I was pregnant. I am thankful every single day for my DD, but my pregnancy was beyond hellish. More than once, I thought about how I could end it so the pain would stop.

I'm sorry that sounds awful!! I def. agree with you, thats why we stopped TTC at the moment. I will find out Friday what I am going to do.

i'm confused.. if you haven't gotten AF yet.. why are you testing with an OPK? If you haven't gotten AF, then you're still at the end of your cycle, however long it may be (or you have a BFP that hasn't shown up yet) or am i reading this incorrectly?

haha no I am sorry its confusing. I didnt get AF, it is about 2 weeks late. I got very very light spotting 4 days before it was due but nothing since. I tested a bunch of times all BFN's. I figured it would be a BFP by now. I am at what would have been CD14 right now so I decided to see if I was ovulating (because I should around now according to last month)....Wasnt sure if I should treat the spotting as AF (i had cramps with it so who knows). I decided to use the OPK to just see and also maybe satisfy a POAS addiction and of course it decided not to work.
I know it barely makes sense but my body was completely normal and regular and then all of a sudden now everything is out of whack.
I am not even TTC this cycle so the OPK really was just a "lets see" kind of thing...trying to figure out my body.
does that make any sense

as much sense as this crazy process can be!! if you recently came off BC (even several months ago) your body can do some funky things - even if you're regular most months, you can still have months that mess with your head! if you didn't have any actual flow.. i can't imagine that you really had AF because you should've had at least enough discharge to expel the lining you know? But who knows.. maybe you did and that was it for the month So you're either on CD 40 something, or cd 14 like you said. good luck!
