so i finally read belly laughs
and i have to say i was so disappointed.
it was too fast a read and not as funny as i'd hoped.
i got thru it in about 45 minutes.
i am definitely returning it and getting my money back

seriously- I read it in like one bowel movement.
I thought it was funny, for a pregnancy book. It also inspires me to corner the market on funny prego books.

Yes...funnier than the book (so far). I mean it's funny...but not as hilarious as I expected.
I only LOLd during the gas chapter...but that's b/c I find all things flatulence-related to be funny.

I thought some of it was really funny and could somewhat relate, other times I felt like she seriously went through every single symptom and issue of pregnancy that it was too hard to believe.

The thing with Jenny McCarthy is from what I've read, she injects a ton of crudeness as opposed to wit. Yes, parts were funny. But if you have to use the phrase "blow out your vagina" more than twice, it's a stretch at humor..literally!
I WILL write a pregnancy book one day that will blow hers out of the water!

yes- Jennie is more shock than actual funny.
And as someone who is overtly crude and not afraid of farting or pooping, she's not shocking too me, so a lot of the effect is lost.
The funniest part of that book was teh large print and the fact that they would skip pages to starta chapter, just to make it look bigger.

Oh, I thought this book was so funny!! I was crying at times because I was laughing so hard! I also found it scary at times, for example when she spoke about two blue twinkies... 
Is that true??

i felt the same way. very disappointed. i chuckled at points but that's it. i'm glad i borrowed it and didn't buy it because i would've returned it

I thought it was great! Love the pictures at the begining of the chapters too! So funny and I just got her other one about after having the baby and bringing home...FUNNY
