So I had a really weird, and disturbing, dream last night.
I dreamed that I was living in my old old house-- the one I grew up in and lived in til I was 14. This house was across from woods and a golf course-- no other houses. There was like a young guy, a teenager, who moved into the woods-- he was I guess homeless of sorts, and everyone thought he was this nice, sweet kid and wanted to help him out of his situation. But, he kept trying to kill my baby!!
I just remember feeling anxious and scared to be near the kid in my dream--- and at one point, he tried to stick two long, sharp metal poles into my belly-- I was still pregnant in the dream. The poles were equipment of some kind that he was working with.
The last thing I remember, is that I was holding a naked baby on my hip, but upside down -- so, I don't know what the baby looked like, or if it was a boy or a girl and this weird teenager was trying to stab my baby!!
Ok, Freudians and armchair pyschologists--- what does this mean?????

I don't know if I can analyze your dream but it is probably rooted in anxiety about giving birth(beinbg that the baby was upside down, him using two metal poles(forceps?)
You will be happy to know that women that have scary dreams in pregnancy have shorter labors-I just read that in one of the pregnancy mags at the Dr's office on Friday

Fab-- this was my third nightmare this week! But, this one was the only one pregnancy related. Earlier in the week, DH had to wake me cause I was screaming in my sleep-- something I NEVER do.
Interesting analysis though... didn't think of the forceps!
I am terrified of giving birth and now that I am almost 30 weeks, I am getting really scared and labor & delivery is an imminent reality.

It is scary-but you will be fine and I will be fine. Just remember women have been doing this for thousands of years-they used to do it in caves and fields and at home-so we are certainly better off at hospitals you know?
