So i tried to strap them in today by going around the coat..did i do it right?

So i tried to strap them in today by going around the coat..did i do it right?
I unzipped them and then strapped them in so the buckle was right up against their clothes not the coat. My only question is my daughters coat has a big hood how do i make sure its not in the way by the collar?

I think you have to have a jacket with a removable hood to do this. Maybe you can just put the coat on backwards like it says in the article posted above?
