Re: So I was reading about my new health insurance

mine have always been covered-

$35 a month isn't bad- I pay $20 now- so it's not a huge difference

Re: So I was reading about my new health insurance

My last job didn't cover bcp. I worked fior Catholic Charities. I was pizzed but had no choice but to pay $35 per month. Why don't you ask your gyn if he/she can give you some samples.

Not sure about Yasmin... but I know my BC pill is $40 with insurance, and the generic is $7 with insurance. Maybe you should look into it.
Or you could just beg your Dr. for samples!

I'll call her and ask her about generic-

she is VERY generous with free samples- but I only go once a year- I think with what I have here plus I think I can order another 3 months under my COBRA- I might be able to swing it till May

the thing that s u c k s -I take 3 packs in a row - like seasonal- so I need more then 12 packs a year

I am going to call her tomorrow

thanks everyone

Re: So I was reading about my new health insurance

Mine doesn't really cover them either, because it is $126 for a 3-month supply of pills and it's considered a third tier drug. The co-pay is $150 on third tier drugs, so I play the full amount.

Re: So I was reading about my new health insurance

Mine didn't last year... Or wasn't supposed.. but I still only paid $10/month for generic... so maybe it did. Chat Icon

When I had to get them without insurance they were $29. Which, while expensive, is a lot cheaper than a baby... which we're not ready for right now...

No there is no generic for Yasmin. It's one of the fairly new ones so that patent hasn't expired yet for a generic to be available. I want to say it's about $50 a month but don't quote me on that because most of what I dispense is at a copay.
