So if there is an ad in the paper for a job...

and it says to call so and so at 555-555-5555, but you live a 5 min walk away, can you just walk in to inquire? It's not a professional job at all. It's a cookie place that needs late night bakers. I thought maybe I could ask the hours, rate, etc since I'd like to make a little extra money to use for shopping and fun purchases. Is walking in and inquiring okay in this case?

Thanks! I love to bake and if I can work a few hours maybe 2 days a week, it could bring in some extra pocket money. The ad said "generous compensation", so I'm wondering what that means...

The only reason I would say to call instead of showing up - is what if they are replacing someone and they don't know it yet Chat Icon Chat Icon
That's the only reason I would say call, but I think you would do fine anyway

I think if its a place that is open to the public, you could stop by.

If not, I would call and mention you live 5 minutes away and would love to come by and meet the person on the phone.
