So, I'm almost done with couch to 5k, and I don't LOVE running yet.

I like it, and I especially like it after I'm done. But while I'm running, I still want it to be done Chat Icon I'm actually surprised that even though I can run over 2 miles, I still get tired by the 1 mile mark. Is this all mental? I feel so good afterwards but I want to actually enjoy my run WHILE I'm running. Does it just take time?

I've been running on and off for years and still don't love it. I love the health benefits though so I keep on it. I also just started running with a partner so that has helped too. Just be prepared that you may never love it. And the tiredness you feel at one mile could definitely be mental. Do you run while listening to music? That might help. Do you run the same route? Switching your route up may also help you. I know if I run the same thing over and over sometimes my mind calculates my run as I am doing it and it can seem arduous.

It's ok not to love it. Some people don't love running. I'm not there yet myself. I run 3-4 times a week outdoors, currently 3-4 miles and I bring my ipod with me and it's boring. I think about stuff and when I do that, the time flies. It is all MENTAL!!!

I run with my neighbor whenever she can join me which is usually 2-3 times a week and it's so much fun! Def. try and find a partner. Having a partner makes it go by quick and I find it easier to keep my pace when running with someone rather then alone.

DH and I run together. We do the same route while I'm doing the couch to 5k program so that might be it. Also, I'm getting bored of the music but I only have 4 couch to 5k runs left so then I can make my own mixes.

have you done a 5K yet? ask yourself again after the race...they are really a lot of fun and runners are so friendly and nice. just start in the back of the line - that's the only time i see runners getting upset (slower people lining up in the front)
