So Im officially going to be a stay-at-home mom...who's with me?

I just told my work that I wont be coming back after the baby. It's such a hard decision since I went to alot of school to do what I do(Im a therapist) and really like what I do. Even if I went back I could only do 15 hours a week if I wanted, but I just feel like its the right decision to stay home at this point....hope its the right choice....anyone else staying home?

I finally decided two weeks ago to stay out, im a radiology tech, and bending, lifting and moving patients, just got way to hard. No money coming in really bites, but i want to save my vac. time after shes born.. plus i can stay out later then hee hee.

I am, ... and I feel the same. I loved my job and we're giving up a big chunk of our income....but I want to be the one to take care of my DS every day. But I know I can always go back if I wanted, which is nice.

I wish I could be a SAHM, but we need the extra money. So I will be off for 3 months and then back to work it is!!!

i want to but we will see .....may not happen, im a tecaher though so not such bad hours, and hubby works form home...

I will probably stay home when we have a second baby. It's a big and personal decision for everyone. Sometimes I want to, and sometimes I don't. We'll see how it goes. I am sure I will bawl like a baby when I have to go back to work that first day!

im a sahm mom now and the #'s are tough! you have to sacrafice alot sometimes but i wouldnt have it any other way. Plus day care would cost waaaaay to much for me to put 2 little ones in. It wouldnt be enough of an income after gas,etc etc. The money we would bring in would be too small to justify going back to work. i would rather cut a few things out that do that.

sometimes i do want to go back to work like when i have heard diego for the 100th time in 1 day!! lol

For us we had to really sit down and figure it out. We realized that if i went back to work FT, half my salary would go to daycare.

I wanted to stay home very badly.....so I would up researching my azz off to find something I could do from home that would bring in money.

I ended up with job where I work 10-15 hrs/week from home and the money is the same as I would have brought home working FT.

HOWEVER.....we do NOT own a home, we still rent...and I'm sure if we had a mortgage to pay I would prob have to work. But I was so so adamant about being the one to be with my son all day that I just did what I could to do it. If i didn't work, we could not meet all our bills.

I'm undecided. Financially it's possible...a little tight but definitely doable. However I do love my job (most of the time ) and I'm not sure I want to give up my benefits and my "adult" time 100%. I would love to work PT but I don't think that's an option here.

i am not going back to work either, well, i didn't tell them it yet, i stopped working around a week ago now.. and just waiting for the little one to come out...

I am ..as of 8/3 that was my last day at work and ive been home with dd ever since..i do have to say i miss work sometimes but def glad to have this chance to be with her aslong as possible..congrats to you!

I am a teacher so I am taking a maternity leave and than a leave of absence. I can take up to 4 years without losing my tenure or job. So I will see how it goes. You are also able to sub up to 4 days while on a family care leave of absence. I will see how I feel after a year. Right now I am so looking forward to being a SAHM. I am ready for a change.
