So I'm supposed to have my 1st appt tomorrow...
and the office just called me to tell me that they are no longer doing OB patients... so I now need to find another DR. Does anyone have any recommendations for some one in the smithtown/hauppague/ islip area?

There was a big article in Newsday the other day about how a lot of OB/GYNs are no longer doing the OB stuff anymore. I wonder who is going to be delivering our daughters babies someday.
No suggestions as my OB is in Woodbury. Good luck.

Dr. Weise was my OB until she moved in March but the I've seen the other doctors and they are all great.
Dr.Mann, Dr.Gentilesco & Dr.Marin. I'd recommend Dr.Marin 1st, she is really nice!
I think they go by Suffolk OBGYN (631) 862-3800. The office is in a building next to St.Catherines Hospital.

NOt to alarm anyone, but the lack of OBs is becoming an epidemic. Two of my uncles are (were) OBs and do not do it anymore because malpractice insurance was too high. They were never sued before, which is pretty impressive in itself, and were rated as some of the best doctors in NY, but they are now in their 50s and decided it is not worth the expense or aggravation. They always talk about how they miss it and their patients are literally crying, but they are disgusted. My uncles have even spoken before Congress regarding this issue because people in rural america have to drive over 2 hours sometimes to see an OB.

how annoying i wonder why the offices are doing this now
i dont know of any dr in that area i am sure other girls on here do though so hang tight till you get some posts
