So, my 3 year old is very excited about Election Day! Added pic after "voting"
Ever since the Democratic primaries, she's been telling anyone who asks that she's voting for Obama. Frequently, I'll put on 1010Wins in the morning (what am I? 70?  ) and whenever she hears his name she exclaims, "Obama! That's who I'm voting for!" Listening to the radio this morning, she got so psyched for "Selection Day!!!!"
So...of course she was going to vote with us (as always) but this year since she's so invested how could I burst her little bubble (after all these months and months) by bringing her in the booth and showing her how ordinary the experience actually is; plus, I'm not sure if a child is allowed to flip the switch anyhow. So, we made our own "ballots" which she thinks we're all going to wear around our necks...then I had to burst her bubble anyway by explaining electioneering to her!
Here she is in all her Obama glory...just look how crazed she is!

Erin, its the name I've been like this my whole life, I'm sorry to tell you that Kate will be too
I blame it on being born on Election day, but apparently it is the name
Oh and I love her!!

She is So cute. My 2 1/2 year old was soooooooooooo disappointed as she knew we were going to vote for Obama but was so disappointed that he was not there - she kept saying " no mommy go back get obama"

Yes, DD was under the same misapprehension! As we were leaving, she said, "But we didn't see Obama!"
Here's her picture after voting--notice her button! We actually took the "ballot" and gave it to one of the ladies there and she put a star on it to show that she "voted."
