So my £9 did provide a few happy times.
For instance, he enjoyed being with his girlfriend, Lydia.
 (note the security Thomas the Tank Engine Book there...not a security blanket, no a security book. He would hold onto that book 24 hours straight if he could)
He was very happy after we finished the snowplay.
And he was especially happy after hijacking my dinner and eating the most horrible hamburger in the history of the planet. With jalepenos.
So, really, I'm not THAT terrible of a mother. Just a little terrible.
