So my daughter starts preschool on Monday, question for BTDT Moms!!
what should I do to make the transition better?
The bus is picking her up and bringing her home.
Any tips so that she leaves happy?
My baby is growing up!

Discuss it with her over the weekend so it's fresh in her mind what to expect (i.e., Mommy wont be getting on the bus, etc.) and let her help you pick out her outfit for the first day. Assure her you will be there to get her at the bus at the end of the day. Try to have everything ready the night before so there's no chaos in the morning. Maybe make a special "Big Girl/Preschooler breakfast", things to make her feel special.
Lastly, no matter how much you may want to cry or feel emotional about your big girl going to school , don't let her see you cry or look worried. Look super happy and be upbeat, even if she looks scared. Give lots of hugs and smiles. If she thinks you are sad or worried will be harder for her.
Let us know how it goes, it's a big step for everyone. Even if she's ambivalent at first, she'll most likely come around and start enjoying herself.

ITA with Elizabeth. Sarah was fine her first day, hysterical the second day, and then was fine ever since. She races into her class, doesn't even say goodbye. Now she cries when I pick her up b/c she wants to stay at school. 
Sarah's teacher suggested that every day we let her pick her own snack. I give her a choice of 2 things and she picks one. She gets very excited about it and now many days she'll tell me as soon as she wakes up what to put in her lunch bag.

If you have Cablevision there is a great school bus video.
Hit the IO button
then go under Free
Then Lifeschool
then school bus (something like that)
My 4yr old just saw it before going on a bus for the 1st time, and really liked it. He watched it about three times before going on the bus.
