So my hot water heater decided to overflow yesterday..
We finished half of our basement. When you walk down the stairs, immediately to your right is the door for the unfinished laundry area, where the boiler and hot water heater is.
I walk down yesterday morning, and the carpet is squishy. We then find that the entire laundry area is soaking wet and that water came into the finished part soaking a small portion of the carpet.
Called the plumber, and $1000 later, it's fixed.
I am so pizzed. I hate house problems!!

Ugh I definitely feel your plumber's bill pain.
I had to pay out $1500 last winter because my upstairs pipes froze. That was fun.
