So my sitter was a no show for miki's party today
I think this may be more of the norm down here that up in ny but I am pretty ******
she told me that she was coming, that she would be late
first she would be late cause her son had t ball practice until 2pm, THEN it was he had a game that started at 2:30....
she never showed, didn't call. nothing
I am ******.
another person flaked on me (a girl that is also watched by the same sitter) but I knew the mom was a flake so I was not expecting her to show
how hard is it to call if you are not going to make it

This is a norm where?
ETA: I think calling to cancel or explain that you will not be able to attend a party that you initially said you would, is just common courtesy.

I'm sure it was unintentional (a sh1t happens type of thing) BUT I'd be annoyed too, especially since even if you are friendly with her, you were also trying to be courteous too
