So my speech-delayed son is knocking the SOCKS off of his SpeechTeach!!!!
So weird but it's a good thing so I'll take it!
Shane was bumped up to 3 speech sessions/week back in Jan. Since then we've seen a HUUUUUUGE word explosion, and his enunciation is getting SO MUCH BETTER - you all told me it would happen and you were so right so THANK YOU!!!
Anyway, this word growth is concurrent with a fascination with numbers/counting, appropriate to 2.5 yo for sure. But the weird thing is, I noticed last week Shane was correctly using the "s" to make plurals for any objects more than one, kwim??? If he saw a shoe he'd say "ooo". If he saw a pair of shoes he'd say "ooos" It was consistent, not just a fluke and I mentioned it to his teacher.
Later that week she pointed out to me that he's also correctly using the POSSESSIVE form, as well as the PLURAL POSSESSIVE - for example he finished his lesson on Monday and snuck on his teacher (Julie)'s shoes and walked around. We were laughing and he pointed at them and said "OOlie''s Oos" for "Julie's shoes". SpeechTeach says this is quite remarkable for his age, so clearly he's "getting" way more than he's able to enunciate and not to worry about ANYTHING developmentally, he's a sharp cookie. That made me 
 So if we can work on the enunciation a bit more we'll be in great shape but I just wanted to pass this tidbit on for the other EI mommies!!!
