so nervous for daycare
I know I keep posting lots of daycare related questions but it's always on my mind as the day rapidly approaches!! I'm so scared that DD is just going to scream all day long for the first week at least! My MIL just watched Natalie for me while I went to physical therapy. She was sleeping when I left and when I came home I could hear her screaming from the driveway! She was hysterical! My MIL said she woke up and they were playing in her crib for like 20 mins and she was fine and then she just went bizerk (sp?)for like a half hour! She just won't let anyone else hold her. I don't want her to get herself so hysterical that she hurts herself or gets sick :( Somebody reassure me that she will adjust quickly ! How long did it take your LO to settle down (if they were hysterical) at daycare ??

Well IMO this is going to be GOOD for her. IMO she needs to get used to other people taking are of her/being with her.
It may be hard that fist week or so but she well be FINE !!!!!
I cried for the first few days when i dropped my DS off. But he was happy and having a great time with the other kids!

ITA. She will be fine. It will probably be harder for you then her.

ya, I know it will be good for her. but i'm just so worried about that first week. I'm feeling sick over it

I haven't returned to work yet, so I have no advice. But I wanted to send you some hugs. I can only imagine how hard this is on you.

I felt the same way when my DD started daycare 2 1/2 years ago but I grew to love it and when my DS was born and it was time to go back to work, it was MUCH easier for me to put him in. I was so nervous and scared about daycare when my DD started and now am a daycare advocate because of all the great things they do and learn there, as well as the socialization skills they gain.
Trust me, it's much harder on us than them.

it is going to be harder on you
but once the transition phase is over you will be SOOO much happier. It took me a while to be OK with my daycare.
But now...I LOVE IT.

sorry to crash!
my DD will start daycare in 2 weeks after 14.5 months of being home with me.
i am dying. i cry here and there every day now. i worry she will cry and be sad. or that she'll get hurt or someone will be mean to her. the list is endless!
the posts from the BTDT moms with DC's in daycare are really really helpful so if anyone else wants to add please do! it is a little peace of mind to hear good things!
I think your DD will be just fine!!! it's going to be alright!

i know everyone keeps saying that! It's just so hard to believe. I guess I should just stop thinking about it and enjoy my last week with DD!
