So odd - ever heard of this? ever had it happen?
DH's friend at work was laid off last Friday. When they told him, they asked him to stay until this upcoming Friday and they offered to pay his moving expenses back to Cali (they paid to move him out here a year ago.)
Well today, they fired him???? How can you get fired and laid off at the same time??? Now he's outta there and they are not paying for his move....
I think that's so strange to get laid off and fired days apart, but maybe that's just me????

That happened once when I worked on Wall Street...The firing was because the employee was stealing client information and company information to take with him to a new company.
I'm sure there's more to the story.

Yeah, I would think he either did something suspicious like that, or the person that offered the moving expense $, didn't have the authority to do so, and now they want to get out of that.

I never heard of this. Something doesn't sound right that they would lay him off then fire a few days later. There has to be more to it.
