Kara, I am so sorry
I totally understand how you are happy for your friend YET also very sad for yourself and all you've been through...
We cannot always be strong every day, you are only human and in this struggle we each face with the many levels of fertility/infertility, be it TTC , M/C, loss, etc. and all the emotions that go with it, yours is a perfectly normal reaction

Re: So sad right now...
I have been there, and it S U CK S!!!!
You are allowed to not be feeling joy for them, its normal- SO normal!!
My sister found out she was PG a week after my M/C and she could NOT understand why I couldnt listen to every happy detail every five minutes. It was pure TORTURE...as was when she finally deliverd, I was beyond jealous and angry and sad.
It takes time to heal...unfortunatly a LOT of time...you will always have a sore spot , and thats OK!
Allow yourself time to except news like this...
I wish I could say something to make you feel better, but there is nothing to say, other then your not alone in how you feel...I hope maybe that helps!

It does ****! Let your self cry, let yourself grieve, allow yourself to be angry. BUT, stay positive in knowing that one day, it WILL be your turn.

Re: So sad right now...
It's totally normal and understandable how you're feeling... I remember when one of my closest friends delivered her baby about 1 week after I had a miscarriage... she wanted me to come to the hospital during the delivery, so of course I did, but it took every bit of strength I had to sit there for those few hours and chat with her family and put on that smiley face... it was horrific, it really was, and just as no one would blame me for feeling horrible, no one would blame you for being upset

Re: So sad right now...
I already responded to this, but I had to share since I found myself in the same boat today.
DH and I visited my sister who just had her second baby (Sydney Grace) last week. I saw her at the hospital, but DH didn't. One of her girlfriends (who was a bridesmaid) stopped by to visit w/her DH and 2 kids (both less than 2 yrs old). She told my sister she's preganant AGAIN!!!
Is it just me or do some people just need to take a break????
Sorry if that sounds mean.....

Re: So sad right now...
I am so sorry
You are completely justified in your feelings.
Two weeks after my son died, my sister-in-law gave birth to her second son, her fourth child. I forced myself to do the brave thing and see my nephew. I was able to twice but I just can't see anyone with a newborn right now or even hear the baby crying over the phone. You would think that my brother and SIL would understand a little better why they don't hear from me right now. I think I would only be able to be happy for anyone on TTC to learn about someone getting pregnant, albeit I know I would still be a bit jealous. I have a few books on M/C and infant loss and each one clearly spends enough time explaining how difficult it is to learn someone else is pregnant. Cry, rant and rave all you want. You do not owe anyone and explanation or apology.
