So shes been walking for about 4 months now and......
I notice that she walks with her right foot turned in. Its not really that noticeable...and I probably wouldn't have noticed it if it wasn't for the wear on her left sneaker......The right part of her left sneaker is shredded (she has suede Pumas). The weird part is that when I really paid attention to it, I noticed the right foor turned in but the left sneaker is the one that is shredded so it must effect the left foot in some way.....does that make sense? Anyway my question is....Is is normal to still be a little unsteady walking for just about 4 months or should I look into this more. Ava has a Dr's apt on Thurs so I am going to bring it up.

I was worried too that DD feet seemed to turn inward (we're still working on walking independently) and the Dr said these things usually correct themselves around 18 months....
BUT I'd still bring it up and bring the shoes with you

When she sits down, does she sit with her legs in a "W" (on her knees)? I ask because when Maddie's foot was turning in, my friend told me never to let her sit on her knees because it made their gait unsteady & caused her daughter to be more pidgeon toed (this was her podiatrist's take on it, her ped said to just wait & see and maybe fit her for orthodics).
I stopped Maddie & noticed that it's a lot less noticeable. Not sure if that was what helped it, but it certainly is worth a shot until you see the doctor.

Sit??? What does that mean? I don't think Ava has that word in her vocabulary yet. She doesn't sit for a minute. But when she does sit she sits on her bottom.

I had this problem when i was little, I am not sure if the treatment would be the same now or even it's the same as DD's but def maybe worth a question to PED>
I walked with feet turned inwards. My grandmother found it early. My no means is this scientific-Call it grandma testing...Put DD on your lap in front of a table, pick her legs up behind the thigh and put them naturally like she was walking, with both feet on the edge of the table. Look at the curvature of her shin to ankle to foot. IF her feet/shin are still turned inward, def talk to PED, if they are not it could just be the way she balances and I would still mention it to PED either way.
My feet were both turned inward, and mind you this is the late 70s, i had to wear these special shoes with a brace on the bottom to bed, and the dr would periodically tighten them.
I don't know if i just grew out of it or that contraption worked, but I walk straight, not a bit of inward wear on my shoes. And of course my parents had that brace bronzed :)
