So the doc's advice is to put me on the pill
They want me on the pill for three cycles to make sure I don't get pregnant because they said they are 99% positive I would miscarry from my past history and they want to give my body a break. My blood work between the miscarriages came back fine so there advice is to go on the pill then come back in two and 1/2 cycles and then they will start testing my blood right around ovulation, give me a an Ovulation preditor kit and have me continue with a RE locally at that point.
I am terrified of going back on the pill. Orthotricyclen which I took prior to my son made me bitchy and have no sex drive and then after my son they had me on Yasmin which caused me a depression.
I know they tend to say your more fertile after the pill so do you ladies recommend me trying the pill again?
Also I have three doc's recommending three different pills. My Family Practice is saying Alesse My Civilian OB is saying Loestrin28 My Military OB is saying LoOrval.... Any advice, I'd like to still have a sex drive since once I feel ready to get back in the saddle once the the bleeding stops I'd like to enjoy it.
TIA***
Were closing on a boat friday which will be our stress relief hopefully and our way to get away! Hopefully that will help as well.

hey Laurie,
Are you satisfied with that advice? Did you ever ask them for a FULL RPL panel? From what I saw yours was not a full panel. I would see a specialist if i was you. Can you go to an RE with your insurance?

I truely don't know if I am satisfied with that advice or not. With Dh's upcoming deployment I just don't know how much I can handle right now. So at this point I just need to make sure I stop miscarrying if only for a few months so I can get my head and my reproductive system someone straight again. I can see a RE, I believe we are in process but the military's plan is to have me on a break for the three cycles then stop the pill and start with a RE. I'm trying to stay as stress free as I can over this process. So since were only 27 these three months of the pill and not dealing with me getting prodded at while dh isn't readily available might be a good thing. I'm just warn out and once we do start treatments it will be odd anyway since dh is only home for 60 days at a time.
I guess my concern is if you ladies think I'm better off using the pill or using condoms or am I totally off base all together...

Re: So the doc's advice is to put me on the pill
I'm sorry I have no advice for you other than the fact that my mother got pregnant with my brother by taking the pill and then popping off after 3 months.
I also took orthotricyclin and had no problems with it.
Good luck to you.

How about using condoms until you see a RE? That way your body can be free of all meds. Just a thought.
Sorry you are going through all of this . I know how you feel about trying to figure out which way is the best route. I hope you will find the right answers.

I agree with what Juju said. It's possible you may be put on medications and I'm not sure how the pill will interact. Also suince you did not get a FULL thrombophilia panel I would be very wary about being on the pill. I was told in no uncertain terms that I should NEVER be on the pill with my clotting issues then again my sister has the same thing and was on the pill for yrs. I guess it is all luck and a personal choice. If I was you I would read as much as i possibly can in the coming months. Get yourself educated. You are the only one who controls your level of medical care! GL!

I'm heading off to see my PCM and have my referral put in for the RE and then after that I'm going for my beta to see if I'm down to zero yet. I did call the RE's office and his nurse told me that due to my circumstances they suggest that I do go on the pill and use condoms until the referral goes thru and I atleast get into there office for my first appointment so to make sure I stay not pregnant because they agree that odds are aganist me for a pregnancy making it past 7 weeks at this point. I will mention it to my PCM about the full panel but I believe he will suggest the pill as well since I've been on it for about 10 year myself. I'm starting to think pyschologically I need to be on the pill and use other methods as well or our private life is going to take a nose dive because for the next three cycles I don't want to see a BFP since I know it won't last. My hormones are still out of wack and I'm afraid of the IF battle that I most likely will need to start. I will read up as much as I can over the next few cycles, I promise.

I was on Allesse for 7 years b/c of migraines. Smile....you WILL get through this....
PS - Allesse is named that b.c it has the lowest amount of hormones on the market. Might help with the other troubles you had on other pills......
