so we tried to give hershey his first bath 2 nights ago

and he HATED it

i was like WTFF hershey?? you are part LAB you are supossed to LOVE the water!!

im thinking he may have just been freaked out b/c no one has ever given him a bath before

did this happen to anyone else when they tried to give their babies a bath for the first time?

Yea Petunia was petrified at first but now she loves it and jumps back in once she’s all dried off…LOL

My dogs look at me hopelessly when I put them in the tub.. and then when they get out, they zoom across the house back and forth to dry themselves off even though we towel dry them

Yea my dogs hateee the bath. So we gave up.

During the summer, they love playing in the sprinkler or with the hose. Go figure.

Yep ours hated the water too at first but got used to it after a few times.

Maddie loves the water but does not like getting a bath.

My Lab hates the bath too. For him, I think it's more about being lifted into the tub and because it's slick and he can't keep his feet in place.

The next time, we put down a mat inside the tub and even fed him peanut butter while we were washing him. He was still freaked out by it.

Last time, we hosed him down outside after he had gotten muddy and he wasn't particularly happy, but he stood still and didn't shake or anything. I really think it's the tub part of it.

Don't feel you have to bathe Hershey a lot. If he's got fur like a Lab, he's not going to require much bathing. Maybe 3 times a year if that.

Kasey is also a lab and she HATES the water. The first time we gave her a bath she shook the whole time even though we kept petting her, givinig her treats, and telling her she was a good girl. Now she's better about it but she still doesn't like to go out in the rain and she won't go in the pool. We've told her she's supposed to like the water but I guess we've got a rebel on our hands!!

Katie loves baths. She jumped in the jacuzzi tub last night and waited for me to fill it. She enjoys just soaking in there. She's a little weird though.

I'm totally getting a kiddie pool this summer for him. He'll only go in water to fetch something, I have to make him understand he's got webbed feet for a reason.

Captain Bob hates it, but for some reason he loves going out for walk when it's raining out.
