Solar Light Spinoff: walkway/driveway?
Anyone put them up their walkway or driveway?
We have some spot lights on the house, but we thought to put some up the driveway and maybe the walkway.
Any recommendations?

Re: Solar Light Spinoff: walkway/driveway?
We bought some at Target a couple of years ago. We had them up the walkway. They were like Hanging Lantern. After a while I thought they looked crappy It was kind of like overkill (the ones we had) I still would like to get ones with stakes that go in the ground and maybe id buy less.
But here I am wanting to buy ones for the fence

i prefer low voltage lighting. not at all a fan of the glow given off by solar lights (blueish or yellow).

I picked up a few a couple of years ago, but we have too many trees for them to get enough light during the day (The two story house roof gets plenty of uninterrupted light, so the solar panels will work, but the rest of the yard is too shaded).

I am not a fan if you need actual lighting. They are really just for decoration and I feel they don't last long either. I bought 2 sets over the years and was disappointed both times. The main problems. Not enough light output and does not last long as in it won't hold the solar energy after a while you have them.
They are much easier to install than low voltage (you have to do a little trench for the cord) but would only get low voltage now.

I bought a few sets at Walmart and put them in our front and back yard. I have to say..they are going strong. They really look nice and they're BRIGHT! I'm not a fan of the amber lights though. We went with the white ones.

it's really more for asthetics than function. We have no trees, so they would get plenty of sun to charge.
