Solar panels
Has anyone put solar panels on their house? I have an L- shaped ranch but we have a built in pool and filter (first summer in this house) and my electric bill was insane. Looking into solar panels, want to purchase rather than leave. Worth it? What are the tax benefits?

Solar panels
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYq0YHsbB9o&t=844s you should watch that before deciding on panels. I watched it before sitting down with 3 companies, and had a list of questions to ask based upon that video. Everything in that video turns out to be true. Someone in my neighborbood pays close to 20k in taxes now because of the permit issues

Re: Solar panels
We have solar panels. We had them at our previous house and then installed them when we purchased our new house.
There are different tax incentives, though they are phased out over the next few years. This year in NYS you get a 26% tax credit based on the cost of your system.
Your taxes DO NOT go up because you get solar panels. The PP said someone's taxes went up, but that is likely because when the town inspected the panels, they found other items on the property that were installed without permits.
For us, solar has been great. In both our previous and current houses, our electric bill averages about $12/mo.
Definitely, definitely purchase (or finance) the panels, but don't lease them.
Let me know if you have other questions!
