Solution for gassy babies!

I went to the pediatrician today to figure out why Alex starts straining, grunting and crying about 30 minutes after eating... they think it's gas. I thought it was acid reflux. I remembered from the hospital when I had the c/s that they told me to lie on my left side in a fetal position and that would relieve some of the gas that builds up post-partum a c/s. So about an hour ago I fed Alex, and of course, within 30 minutes she started straining. I put her down on her left side and curled her up in a fetal position and OMG, it worked!!! Instantly she stopped crying and then about 10 minutes later she tooted Chat Icon Now she's sleeping quite happily! I think I found the solution!! I'm going to have to try this. Christopher's on the Gentlease formula, using the Dr. Brown's bottle, and even sometimes after using both and giving him gripe water, he STILL gets gas. I'll be so angry if the solution for him is so simplistic. Chat Icon

My SIL lies her baby on her back, then takes her legs by the ankles and slowly bends them at the knees and pushes them in toward her belly, keep doing that for a minure or so and they'll let some gas out. It works every time!
