some more dr. B city/IVF office info
i couldn't resist emailing Dr. B about it since my embies are at AFS.
His basic answer was that he is moving his NYC office and IVF services to Dr. Batzofin, however if they don't accept your insurance, he still has a great relationship with AFS and will still do cycles there for those that need to.
Anyone who already started a cycle or committed to a cycle with him, no matter what the insurance is, will be covered as they were already told. So if you are already in cycle or have discussed coverage there prob wont be much change for you.
The new office will be located at 40th and 5th and is supposed to be a very nice atmosphere (which I know was a big complaint about AFS).
The only way this effects Woodbury non-IVF patients is that Dr. B said he will be in the city more now, he said around twice a week, and some Saturdays.
Not sure if city monitoring would take place at AFS or the new location. I didn't ask since it didn't effect me at the current time, but I am sure he will work it out however you need to individually.
Hope this clarifies a little, good luck everyone!

Wow thanks so much! I know he was training some of the nurses to do more of what he does so maybe that will allow him to go in the city more. It makes me more excited for my next IVF.

Thank you so much FlowerWife, I was so lost on the other board about all this new info with Dr Braverman. I m new to the board and a NEW patient of Dr Braverman's. All that back and forth was so confusing!!! Is there a name for this new clinic that Dr Braverman is working @ with Dr Batzofin?

Thanks for the info. I hope he will be sending out a letter or something with this info. Now I'm going to get nervous. . . I have frozen embies at AFS and am waiting on AF to do an FET (hopefully any day now).

i have frosties at AFS too. he said i can transfer them if i want to do an FET in the future, or i can keep them at AFS and do an FET there. i figure for now I will leave them at AFS and then decide in the future what I want to do with them, if/when I am ready for an FET.
i would talk to him first and make sure Batzofin accepts your insurance. if he doesnt then you'll prob just stay at AFS anyway.
good luck!

I'm in the same boat as you. Had a successful cycle with Dr B/AFS and I have 5 remaining at AFS. I guess I'll make the decision in the future about transferring but I have heard that the transferring service for embryos can be costly. Ah well, we'll cross that bridge....
