Some parents make me sick
This afternoon, my mom came over to watch DS for me, so I went out to a local shopping center to get some things done. Anyway, I come out of the Gap right in the middle of the downpour. I am walking to my car when I see a little girl, 3 or 4 yrs old, walking in the middle of the parking lot, inbetween cars! I go over to her and ask her who she was with, she tells me she was with her mommy in the supermarket but she thinks her mommy went home and now she is trying to walk there. 
Now, for those Queens mommies who may know the Bay Terrace Shopping Center, this child made it from Waldbaums to the Gap, and no one stopped her!! And the mother was no where to be seen. I finally find the mom, frantic outside of Waldbaums. She says that she had to run to her car to get her cell phone and asked her daughter (3 YEARS OLD!!) to "babysit" the cart of groceries. When she came back in, the girl was gone. Instead of telling me Thank You, she turns to her DD and says, "I guess Leah needs to learn how to be a better listener".   IS SHE KIDDING ME!! Some people should just not be parents...

OMG! That can be a pretty busy place with cars darting in and out.

I know exactly where that is...I used to live there for 5 years and shopped in that Waldbaum's. You have to cross the street/parking lot to get to the gap from Walbaum's  Glad you were there to help the little girl

That is disgusting...I would have said something like "Yeah Leah should have stayed with the cart of groceries, it can't be any less attentive then you"

Unbelievable!
But again! My parents lost me several times in the grocery store. One time (I was 4) I got lost and thought they left me and I almost left the store after I tried "forever" to find them in the store. I almost went outside the store and find them in the parking lot to see if they had left. BUT it was pitch black in the middle of winder and I got "scared" to go check the parking lot so I stopped at the door (I almost left twice). But I kept looking for them aisle by aisle. No comments!

I live right there and won't even leave DS buckled in the car for a second if I leave something in the house. Safe, yes. Psychoproof, no. When I was growing up there a man used to pleasure himself on the balconies of Birchwood towers and try to get us kids to visit him.
But then again, when I was 2 I got lost when I managed to cross the street by myself. My neighbors still remind me about it.

OMG....I would have smacked that mom....that is such a busy shopping center too..what if she wandered out into the lot, off the sidwalk? For a cellphone....

That is one of the wrose things I have ever heard.
See, I would have told the mom off and told her to get down on her knees, kis sher child and thank me for not calling the police.
People make mistakes, but her attitude after shows she is insane!
