Some questions about Oing late....

I don't temp, or use OPKs (this is our 2nd month ttc) so i don't know EXACTLY when i O but i do know that my average cycle is 29 days and AF stays for 5 days. Is it even possible to O late with a 29 day cycle?

I know the LP should be at least 10 days which would mean that the last possible day i can O is CD19 when my cycles are 29 days..is that right??

I track my cycles on MyMonthyCycles and use WebMD ovulation calculators and both say I should O on or about CD15. Is this right?

I just don't want to miss my O and it's too late to start OPK's and temping for this month. This month we started BDing every other night from CD9. Tonight, tomorrow, and the next day we are BDing (CD14,15,16) and then again on Thurs and Fri (CD18 & 19) for good measure. Do you think we're covering all our bases???

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!! TIA!!!! Chat Icon

Re: Some questions about Oing late....

An average cycle is 28-30 days, so you're not Oing late. A normal LP is typically 10-14 days. This means days 15-19 are probably your most fertile. That doesn't mean it's impossible to O later than that and have a shorter LP - it's possible, it happens, and it is a problem that your doc would have to address because it means there's not enough time for implantation. This is unlikely, but I just wanted to point out that CD 19 is not the latest you could O.

That said, it sounds like your BDing plan is good and should cover your bases. Good luck!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

yup! looks perfect- every other day between CD 10-20 is what my gyno had recommended for optimum results

if that gets to be too much for you try using the OPKs, it will help you narrow it down to the best 3-4 days to bd for results Chat Icon
