Someone Please explain this to me! (16-17 month old related)

DD goes down for her nap NO prob. However when it comes to bedtime it takes her from 1/2hr-hr to fall asleep. EVEN when she is Clearly exhausted. meanwhile we do more running around in the afternoons so i dont understand why when its naptime she out as soon as her head hits the crib but not for bedtime.. very frustrating

My DD is almost 17 months and I find that both naptime and sleeptime are hard to get her to sleep. I think it has to do with them not having a concept of time and just wanting to play.

I have read that it has to do with the fact that they are afraid they will miss something when they fall asleep.

Maybe because the nap is shorter she doesn't fear missing much but the night is much longer and maybe she suspects a party is going on after she falls asleep at night.

I feel your pain. I spent an hour getting DD to sleep last night (we don't CIO)
