Someone please tell me this is supposed to happen
I know this is a superficial complaint, but I can't help it. I've always been on the slimmer side, and now at 25 weeks, I feel like my whole body is different. Believe me, I know that I am supposed to gain weight. I know that it's healthy to, but my inner thighs feel so big and I just saw my bare back in the mirror for the first time and it looks so much thicker! I even have tiny rolls on my back that I never had before!
I feel embarassed even complaining but I just feel discouraged. I don't think I'll be up for exercising once the baby's born. Is this supposed to happen to specific body parts and will it go away? Thank you for listening.

I am not sure what else to say, other than it's inevitable that your body is going to change. It's hard to see your body just change and not have any control over it-- but, it is temporary (I hope). It's important to stay healthy throughout your pregnancy and after to help yourself bounce back.

I had an extremely hard time with the body changes. I felt the same exact way about my back! I'm not allowed to exercise either. I finally accepted the fact that my body is supposed to change and that it's for the most important reason. I plan to work out as soon as I can (haven't been allowed to since about 20 weeks) and hope for the best.

Be prepapred that your body may not be the same after pregnancy. You may get down to your pre-pregnancy weight, but your weight may be redistributed and things may fit you differently. I know it's difficult to see all of the changes your body goes through, but it's for a good reason.

Thank you both for responding. I was walking sporadically over the summer and I was also doing yoga. I have just gotten lazy, not that I was a big gym person to begin with. I've just been feeling hormonal the past week or so. I think I need to go back to the gym just to starting moving on the treadmill a few days a week. Thanks again.

Re: Someone please tell me this is supposed to happen
I had a very hard time adjusting to my body, esp since I didn't show until later on, and I felt like I just looked fat..I was always a bit too obsessed with my body, I will freely admit that, I was overly anal about the way I looked, and it was insanely hard for me to come to terms with my body when I wasn't really showing that much and just looked blah..it's hard but know its all for an amazing cause, and you'll be back to yourself in no time!!!! My mom was actually thinner after she had me than before I'm hoping that history repeats itself, since I am her twin basically and carrying just like she did

Re: Someone please tell me this is supposed to happen
I have a hard time adjusting to my new body and gaining weight. I noticed the same thing about my back. I have rolls on my back that I have never had before. I lived for so long so obsessed with eating healthy and losing weight. It is hard to just let my body gain the weight that it needs too. It is a hard adjustment but it is something that just happens.
I just plan to work out and eat right after the baby.

It's good to know that others feel the same- especially about the back area. That freaked me out a little. I know that it's all for a wonderful reason!

Re: Someone please tell me this is supposed to happen
Everyone's body carries the weight differently. A definite consolation to you should be that you are normally on the thinner side---meaning your body will probably bounce back quickly. With my first child, I didn't work out either and lost weight really fast. I was nursing and that helped to shed the pounds but still I am no skinny minnie so I usually have to work really hard to keep my weight down.
