Something DIFFERENT for a 2nd birthday.....
For obvious November reasons, Gavin's birthday needs to be held indoors, and while I would love to have a party at the house, we must do something at a place for the kids, then maybe cake back at the house with family.....
We have been to the bouncy parties, the gym parties, all they type of stuff.....and while I am not against it, and may even end up doing it myself, I was trying to find something different that was still age appropriate....
Any suggestions in the Nassau area?
TIA!

This sounds fantastic!!!! Do you think it's too young for a 2 year old?
A lot of the things I love seem more geared for when he's a bit older.....

What about going to a pottery place and letting the kids paint their own pottery
Also a bakery in the town my mom lives in does parties there. The kids get to make cookies, they eat pizza while they are baking and then they get to decorate them. They also got to decorate cupcakes to take home.

Re: Something DIFFERENT for a 2nd birthday.....
I just wanted to share that DS was invited to a pottery place for a 4 yo b-day party. He is 2. The 4 year olds got a LOT out of it. DS, however, did not. I think 3 or 4 would be more appropriate for a pottery or art type place.
One of our other friends just had a magician/musician for her 2 year old daughter. I think the children loved it. She was originally scheduled to perform for 1 hour but went for almost 2 hours. By the end of hour 1 most of the kids were trying to run around. So if you do something like that just make sure it is only an hour. The kids don't have an attention span for longer than that.
I think that having a character i.e. Elmo is another good idea for 2 year olds.

ITA with this. We just did the girls party at Alley Pond and the animal part was a blast for both but making favors DD (2 yrs) was not a fan and spent her time with the animals. So the make your own parties are definitely for the older kids.

I have never been there myself, but one of the little girls from my daycare had her 2nd birthday there and I heard rave reviews.....maybe do a search on LIF or make a new post about Little Chefs and I'm sure you'll get some replies and reviews !
ETA- The site says ages 2-15

Re: Something DIFFERENT for a 2nd birthday.....
what about Build a Bear?
For DS we are having it at a bowling alley, he'll be two and LOVES bowling. He can name the pro=players.
They have a little ramp that the toddlers can use to roll the ball down and then down the lane so they dont have to physical shoot the ball.
Are you near smithtown, there is the Ice Cream Party Shoppe

We took my Brownie troop to Little Chefs in Commack when they were 5 and I have to say, they were totally bored and it went over like a lead ballon. The kids were distracted and running around and wanting to leave early. Just my experience

A lot of the things I love seem more geared for when he's a bit older..... Little Chefs is def. too young for a 2 year old. It's an amazing place - but I think more appropriate for 4 and older!

Re: Something DIFFERENT for a 2nd birthday.....
Once Upon A Treetop or Orly's Treehouse are great for 2 year olds. I'm also looking at Bear Kingdom for DD for her 5th birthday but I've heard it's great for young kids too. Wood Kingdom is also fun.
ETA: I did Kiera's party at Orly's last year and what I really liked about it is you pick the activities for the kids. So you can choose a party that you think is good for your child and the age group.
