Something I heard about the 5 year longevity for NYC teachers
I heard that the $1000 is spread over the year and not given as a lump sum. true?

It's very confusing, but it is actually like a new "step." Originally, after 8B, you had to wait until completion of the 10th year to get any longevity, now after 8B, you get the 5 year longevity increase and it is spread out over your 24 paychecks. Blah.
