Something so strange - has this ever happened to you?
I decided that I eally want to get Cailen crib-ready - if you have been following our epic, he slept for 2 mts in his bouncy seat on his side until he got too big to do that, then mostly in his swing. He hates lying down. I propped up his bassinet mattress, which helped for a bit, but then he started waking up a lot again. Then I had him sleeping on his side on the propped up matttress, and thats been going great.
Since he is starting to turn over, I have been waking up to make sure he is not on his belly or his face in the mattress (I'm feeling since its propped up, I'm a bit more nervous about it)
So, last night, he's fast asleep. I fall asleep after waking up a few times to make sure he's ok, and am thrilled that he may be ready for the crib, and he has not needed the swing all night.
I wake up this morning.
He is swinging away.
Wide awake too, looking around, cooing to himself.
I asked DH if he put him in the swing. He said no. I asked if he was sure. I knew he wouldnt because he doesnt do anything at night - we sleep downstairs anyway, and he would wake me up if he was crying in the morning.
DH laughed at me for not remembering that I put him in the swing. I totally do NOT remember at all. I probably did it without feeding him, because there was no extra bottle on the coffee table - where I usually put them during the night when I'm done.
How did I do this?
I'm also mad at myself because I wanted to try and go a whole night without the swing....

yes..I have taken my dd to my bed and put her back and do not remember and then freaked when she cried and didn't know where she was.downright scary. That kid never ever slept though, I was beyond sleep deprived.

Yup...sleep deprivation makes you totally forget doing things. There were numerous nights that i remember putting them both down in the crib and then woke up with one of them sleeping on my chest (the only way to get them to really sleep). I would wake up and be like now how did this happen. So it is common.

I dreamed a whole feeding and argued with DH the next morning about the times he fed him...he said he fed Lucas at 4:30am and I was like: impossible...I fed him at 5am and you wouldn't wake up at all. DH pointed out he didn't return to bed until after 5...I dreamed it!!! Very surreal...and unnerving. It happens when you're exhausted. Don't sweat the swing...you did what you had to do to get both ofyou some sleep.

I did this in the beginning - I would hear him cry in real life, and then dream getting the bottle and feeding him, and wonder why he was still crying... then I'd wake up and realize the poor baby has been lying there waiting for me the whole time!!!
