Something weird is happening to me
I am sick with a sore throat and cold. Last night I was having very weird dreams & waking up all night in a panic. When I finally calmed down I couldn't remember what it was that I was dreaming about.
Now, this is happening to me again while I am at work. I am fine one minute and the next minute I am all stressed out like I am having an anxiety attack and I am having crazy thoughts, but I can't remember what the thoughts were once my attack is over.
My coworkers think it could be from taking medication for my cold, but all I took was 1 pill of Advil Cold & Sinus last night and 1 this morning.
Does this sound like a panic attack?

Decongestants give me anxiety. It really could be from that.

Yes it does and let me tell you- anything with a decongestant in it can bring it on.
I can't take decongestants anymore for that very reason. It makes my heart race like crazy and throws me into a panic attack!

I definitely think it can be from the medication you are taking - cause the same thing happens to my DH when he takes it

I guess it could be from the medication but I have taken it plenty of times before and this never happened. I will wait a few more hours to see if it passes and if not I will call my dr. I feel like I am going crazy.

I get that reaction from any cold medicine I take - that's why I refuse to take it, even if I have the flu - I'd rather be sick than feel that way!

That happened to me once at work too. I panicked and ran to the doctor b/c I had no idea what the heck was going on. It is totally the cold meds. I can only take certain ones now, b/c I am so scared of going through that again. It stinks. Hang in there and it will pass. Can you go out for some fresh air?

Julz - have you eaten?
I believe when it happens to my DH it is cause he hasn't eaten or eaten a little too lightly.

This was happening to DH last week when he was on prescription cold medicine. As soon as he stopped taking the medication, he was fine again. Feel better!

Thanks everyone. I feel so much better now! I only got that weird feeling twice in the afternoon (after like 50 times in the mornings) and only once since I left work. I am pretty sure it was the advil cold & sinus... but the strange thing is I take it all the time and this has never happened to me before.

I remember I took one of those allergy medicines and I couldn't sleep at all the night before. Not quite the same, but those medicines can have some weird effects.
