sometimes i dont get men.. parenting related...LONG
dh had surgery on friday to remove a pin from his leg ( he broke his leg back in June). The surgery went fine but he is in a lot more pain than he expected so of course he is MISERABLE. He stayed home today from work. So anyway as i am taking Allison out of the car at the sitters she throws up EVERYWHERE!. it landed most in my sitters driveway but also got on my shirt.Being preggo the smell made me almost throw up. So i bring her up to my sitter she gets me a new shirt ( one of her daugheters shirts) then we clean her up and me up. I offered to take her home she said no dont be silly ill call you if it continues. As i left she was fine waving by bye to me and eating a bannna. I think it was form her teeth.
Anyway, i call dh as i am leaving to tell him and say if it happens again the sitter is goign to call me and ill take her home and of course i go in to the whole story and stuff.. Instead of saying oh i hope she is ok or something he is like ok let me go. i said whats wrong i am trying to tell you about your daughter getting sick . hes like i know but MY LEG HURTS. ok you cant take 2 minutes to talk to me about your daugher and maybe say if you think i should go back an get her or reassure me i did the right thing by leaving her.I understand your leg hurts but your leg willhurt ifyou talk to me for another minute or if you get off the phone. UGHH i swear iam loosuing it. Between taking care of him the last three months and barely gettng a thank you, the car accident on thursday, her throwing up on me.. I cant take it. I need a VACATION..ALONE!

Its tough being a parent of two under forty.
Every mother is a mother of two. Our little babies, and the big babies we married.
DH and I go through this too. They are just a different breed. DH works and feels overwhelmed. Well I work full time, manage our babysiter, take care of Jordana every evening alone and manage the house (food shopping, cleaning, etc....). Plus he encourages me to go to the gym, and lets not forget all that girly grooming we have to take care of.
If men had to deal with half of what we do, they would never leave the house.

I'm sorry you've got so much going on. Men are such big babies. My DH has had a cold the past week and it's all I hear about. I totally hear you on the vacation. The past couple of weeks have been tough on me too. I actually looked into flying away for a night, but probably won't do it. It sound so good. I hope DD feels better and you don't have to go get her.

I honestly don't know why some men are like that. We're not all that way....
Yesterday, I was tiling the bathroom floor (no A/C in that part of the house... ). I'm exhausted, but after dinner, DS wants to run around because he's still full of energy. Even though I'm exhausted, I run up and down the hallway, "racing" DS to try and tire him out (FYI, a 35yo man cannot tire out a 4yo boy.... ) After I put him to bed, I filled the rest of the dishwasher, let the dog out, then cleaned up most of the tools I was using for the bathroom project. All without making any complaints whatsoever, so it CAN be done if DH really wants to put the effort in. Plus, I'm still recovering from arm surgery, so I'm not 100% either.
