somewhere I can get a cheap, yet good, train cake for my son in Westbury, Carle Place, Mineola area...
My son's 2nd birthday is next weekend and he is OBSESSED with trains...I was assuming that my usual go to place...BJs would have something train related in their book of kids cakes! I am usually not a fan of bakery cakes...but BJs tastes homemade so I often get the cake from there for parties! I also use Costco...but they dont decorate with kid themes..
I went yesterday to order a cake and they didnt have ANYTHING train related
So now I need to look for a PLan B...
I might just "attempt" to make one...but I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions in my area...I was going to have about 20 people....but it looks like with everyone schedule it is only going to be about 10...so I don't need anything big!
I guess it is more for the photo op!
Thanks for your help!

last resort you could bring them a picture of a train and have them make a sugar sheet to place on top. I did that so we could have an Umi Zoomi cake this year Not a great pic but you get the idea:
eta: I actually made the cake myself and just bought the sugar sheet from Waldbaums for $10
King Kullen on Jericho makes a delicious cake but their machine to make the sugar sheets is broken so you'd have to get it from Waldbaum's and put it on yourself. (at least it was in Sept. Call and check though)

Try Waldbaums, we got DS's cake there and they were willing to make modifications to any of their cakes to make it what you wanted.

I am pretty sure baskin robbins has a Thomas cake. If you want to make one I have a train cake mold you can borrow. I'm in Levittown. FM me if you want it.

We just did a sheet cake from baskin robins with Thomas for DS's 3rd bday. IT was $50.
I had 25 people over and had cake left over.
