song suggestions
So I'm getting songs together for my dance studio and I'm open to suggestions. I teach kids tap, jazz, ballet and hip hop- so keep that in mind! So far I've got: Sexy Back London Bridge Buttons Promiscuous Ain't No Other Man Hips Don't Lie

They range in age from nursery school to high school.

Re: song suggestions
IMO...some of those songs are inappropriate. When I taught dancing school (and taught 2nd grade and put on class plays), I always had to make sure the songs didn't contain anything that would be considered to risque. Those songs are not appropriate for children.

agreed
It's bad enough all the kids know the songs from the radio. I find it really unsettling when I see kids singing some of these songs, word for word

Re: song suggestions
I agree, but I'm having real trouble coming up with pop songs that DON'T have questionable lyrics.
Can anyone name any so we can help out????

Re: song suggestions
As someone who teachers five year olds, I would suggest some "Wiggles" songs for the pre school group.

The songs are great to dance to, but are they all really appropriate? Sexy back? Maybe for a HS senior? I don't know... guess I'm a PRUDE.
