I don't usually run with music but a lot of times I pick songs that I sing to myself while I run.

I usually like songs that have meaning behind it for me. Think about the sound track of your life, as corny as that sounds.
If you are going for a short but fast run fast beat music. Long and slower more meaningful songs.

Eminem is for some reason insanely motivating for me when I work out.
My faves are
Loose yourself
Til I collapse
Lighters is also good (just eminems part loll)
Also:
Outkast: bombs over bagdad
3 doors down-its not my time
jay z-hot tottie
Usher-more
I have a big mix of genres

I like running to Machine Head- the first half of "The Burning Read" album and the first half of Cowboys from Hell (Pantera)
Other than that, I have a whole Rocky mix, Foo Fighters Monkey wrench is pretty awesome too

2 of my favorite songs to keep me really going are Usher "More" and Lady Gaga "Edge of Glory. More is the 2nd song on my 5 K list and Edge of Glory is my last. I feel like More gets me moving once I'm warmed up and Edge of Glory helps me finish really strong.

I dont really listen to the mainstream stuff anymore...I put pandora on and listen to the trance music station and the beats can really get you moving. If you have a phone that you can download pandora or spotify I would check the trance, house music stations out to.
