We are going to San Francisco at teh end of the month for our First Anniversary. Any recommendations on Vineyards to tours that we should go to?

Re: Sonoma-Napa Vineyard Recommendations
I liked Beringer better than Mondavi of the larger vineyards, we were really excited to go to Mondavi and were disappointed.
We really liked Silver Oak, Stags Leap and Chimney Rock. We found that it was nice to go to the smaller vineyards because you got to taste rather expensive wines for reasonable prices and the people who worked there were friendlier.

Re: Sonoma-Napa Vineyard Recommendations
DH and I did this trip last month. My one piece of advice is to try to go to the smaller vineyards--that's where the beauty is!!!!! We do go to Francis Ford Coppola for lunch--beautiful!!!!!
Here are my suggestions: Nicholson Ranch Winery Gloria Ferrier Winery (champagne) Franks Family Winery---Amazing winres and champagnes--Marilyn Monroe's fav wine Prager Port CAKEBREAD--simply the best Duckhorn--expensive but nice
There is a winery that you may not find on the map, but IMO was the BEST experience. It is called Fluery Winery--owned by a young couple. We were with them for 2 HOURS!!!!!!! We loved it there.
I also would suggest (that we didn't go to) St. Jean, St. Francis, Sterling, Hess, and definately J-Jordan.
We did go to Tattinger (domaine caneros) it was zoo. We walked out
Hope this helps!!!!!!

Mondavi has the best tour. They limit it to 15 people each tour and they really let you see what they do. Check out Copia, the wine and food museum, it's awesome!

Re: Sonoma-Napa Vineyard Recommendations
I love Gloria Ferrer - the view is spectacular and you can sit on the patio with a drink and a snack and relax while looking down on the vineyards.
I also like the Mondavi tour. Have fun! It is hot there this time of year, but dress in layers if you go into SF - it's not so warm there.
