I had one at 36 weeks and now at 39 and 40 I am having ones just to check on the size of baby because we are predicting a chunky little one. If all was normal (I was having a 6-8 lb baby) then I would have only had the 36 week sono as my last before birth.
ETA the one at 36 weeks is standard in my drs office to ensure the position of the baby.

I beleive only if they are monitoring you for soemthing, not typically.

My last sono was my level 2 at around 25 weeks, and my final sono (as long as there is nothing wrong) will be at my 36 week appointment.

The standard sonos at my office are:
8w
12w
20w
32w
The 32w is the growth sono to ensure that everything is going according to plan. Of course you may have more if medically necessary (I had 2 Level II's and 2 more at about 23-25 weeks for other stuff).
Not every doctor's office does the last sono, some end with 20w though I'm not sure how they know if your fluid is ok or how big the babies are without

I did at 30, 34 and 37 weeks because my baby was measuring large.

I have to go between 34&36 weeks for a growth sono- I have GD, but I seem to remember being told about that sono before they found out about that.

I had growth sonos the last few weeks but I had GD.
My BFF is 30 weeks preggo and they just sent her for a growh sono too. She has nothing wrong with her. It may depend on your Dr.

I had one at 31 weeks only because I changed doctors and the new doctor wanted one. I don't think it is that typical after the level II to have another one.

Thats me too....I haven't had anymore. Midwife says as long as everything is going good. If I get to 41 wks then I'll get another.

my last sono was at 38 wks to check his position - doc had a feeling he was breech but wanted to make sure and break the news to me when it was closer to an actual csection date...otherwise my 20th would've been the last sono
