Sooo nervous!
I have my thesis proposal today. I hope I pass. If I'm not advanced to candidacy by Aug 1st, I have to leave grad school with no degree.  I'm sure it will be fine, but I'll be so so glad when it's over.
Can I have hugs and prayers?

DH defends his thesis on Thusday and then he'll have a PhD!!
It's been a crazy couple of months. I'm really happy it is over, and now I can just do my experiments without a time limit hanging over my head.

I was crying too last week when I found out I had passed and was done  Its an emotional moment and the excitment takes over

I agree, the dissertation defense is more of a formality... it's a time for celebration rather than stress...
now, all you need is to write a lot, and hopefully then your committee will accept your written dissertation... and you can give your defense....
Life is indeed better on the other side... so there's a light at the end of the tunnel!
