The engine was still on. A heat shield on the bottom of the truck is supposed to protect it from leaves getting caught and catching fire. But, if you park in a bed of leaves, the heat shield is pointless, especially with the engine running.

Ahhhh thanks! I guess I learned something new today!

The only reason I know this is that my heat shield is rusting and I was just telling DH that I won't replace it because "what's the likelihood of the truck CATCHING ON FIRE?"

Can someone PLEASE explain to me what driving an SUV and no parking in the leaves is all about????? I totally did not understand all that about AJ and parking in the leaves.

My only thought is that people in regular cars don't park in leaves- they'd get stuck. People in SUVs like to go offroading and can drive in the leaves. So, it's something that only SUV drivers could do.

All of these theories are cracking me up. Those people in the diner were never in a prior Sopranos episode according to IMDB. Tony did not see himself sitting there, it was just a weird cut. He's in the same outfit at the table, just with his jacket off. And if you watch that clip again you'll see that from the further back shot it ends with him looking at the jukebox and then the next cut is up close with him looking at the jukebox still. It was just a different angle. When he walks in I think he's looking around to make sure that it's safe, not looking around for a good table. Which is also why he keeps looking at people that walk in and why he looks at the guy as he walks past. They were trying to show us how Tony has to always look over his shoulder. That he can be taken out at any moment.

I think the ending was supposed to be "back to life for Tony." Like the family's together and all's well but Tony will always be on the look-out and his life will always be a big question mark. But the ending SUUUUUUUCKED big ones!!!

The more I watch it and think about it, the more I like the finale. I was really upset at first, but I also love how it left us with so much speculation. Something to think about and discuss. I still wish there was a bit more closure, but I'm not so disappointed anymore.
