That ending was horrible and disappointing!!
The best part was dh seeing the gas station that's a mile away from where he works...
and the cat/Paulie scene's
and the cat starring at Christofuh's picture..
Was the cat supposed to be Ade?
Maybe, but who knows...
The only positive thing about this ending is that there might be a movie or more shows in the future. They left it open ended in a good way.

I have to admit...the way the last scene was filmed:
The Journey song (which you have to admit- we all secretly love)
Tony there alone, then Carmella, then AJ....Meadow getting frustrated parking
People enjoying themselves in the restaurant
Creepy guy
That scene gave me such a high- my heart was racing, my palms sweating, I was breathing fast...it was awesome
Then of course the big letdown but before that I've never experienced TV that made me so nervous before
ITA. I was on the edge of my seat. Then I thought the cable went out. And then the credits rolled. I think they are leaving it open to a movie.

Stolen from another message board:
"Since the show is from Tony's point of view, when his point of view ended (gun shot to the back of the head), the show ended. One could say the last thing he saw was his daughter walking through the door."

I thought it was gonna be like a scene from The Godfather when Michael kills the guy in the restaurant. But NOOOO!!!

yeah- but it isn't always. Like the scene with AJ and the car. Or the scene with Paulie at teh Bing- or the scenes with the FBI agent. Sometimes it is- and sometimes it isn't.

Maybe so but after 10 years why leave people wondering....just wrap it up already...
There was so many loose ends to this series it is unreal...Hello where is the Russina running around the Pine Barens?

From another board:
The more I think about it, the more I realize that this was a great ending. Remember when Tony and Bobby where on the boat and and he asks "what do you think happens when you die?" and he replies, "nothing, it just goes black" Tony is dead. Great ending.

It's a good idea but it doesn't quite work. Just before the scene you see Meadow parking and it is from her perspective so why wouldn't it continue when she enters the restaurant?

DH was saying that Chase doesn't like nice wrapped up endings... citing Russina and how that was never wrapped up.
How obnoxious.

As far as the significance of Meadow parking I think it was a joke from the producers. Isn't that the new Lexus that's supposed to park itself?

Both great theories but they could've at least shown the guy pointing a gun at Tony like he was about to shoot him so it would be an obvious ending.
ETA: Or Meadow having a reaction when she walked in because she sees her father is about to be killed?
