Really? I would just do it cause they will need it eventually anyway. I don't remember needed all that the 1st time though.

Re: Sorry another pre-Qual question
Are you asking them for a pre-qual or a pre-approval? We did a pre-approval which in my opinion is better because it shows sellers that your a more serious buyer since they know you'll probably run into less trouble getting a mortagage because you already had your finances (W2's credit scores, etc) looked into. For a pre-qual all they need is your annual income. It could be done over the phone. A pre-qual does not consider credit scores, any debt or loans you have so I don't think it is as realistic as a pre-approval in my opinion.

Re: Sorry another pre-Qual question
don't give your info to all 4 - that would mean 4 separate inquiries into your credit history, which effects your FICO (credit) score!

We got a better rate for giving our W2s and our recent paychecks. They should be able to still pre-qual you, but it will be at a higher rate.

Yes, only use 1. They pull your credit each time you get qualified.

Re: Sorry another pre-Qual question
Welli went to lending tree already. I thought this would be easy way to get a pre-approval..but no such luck Now i want to go somewhere else...
Did that inquiry already lower my scores?

Not sure but if you plan on using a certain person for your mortgage, I would go w/ them for the next try.

Re: Sorry another pre-Qual question
As long as similar inquiries are done within the same time frame (month or couple of weeks), your score shouldn't be impacted greatly.

Nope not true, multiple auto or mortgage/home equity loans within a 45-day period count as just a single check on your account. This comes from Fair Isaac, the people who calculate your FICO credit score. Visiting and applying at a site like Lending Tree at the same time that you are applying elsewhere within that 45-day window will have absolutely no impact on your credit score or ability to get credit
