I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian. I do eat dairy. I try to stick to soy milk, but soy cheese just doesn't work for me.

If your looking for a good vegitarian snack... at Waldbaums in the Vegan section there are these Spinach Nuggets from VeggieFarm products. You stick them in the microwave for 45 seconds and they are delicious.... Taste like little knishes.

why are you cutting milk out- but not eggs and cheese?
I am a lacto ovo veggie-- which means I eat no meat or fish whatsoever, but I do eat dairy. When it comes to eggs, I only eat egg whites though.

If you are avoiding meats for humane reasons, there are cage-free eggs, soy cheese, butter, etc. Shrimp...well, we'll forget that one right now
It is possible to be a lacto-ovo Vegetarian & be humane about it. You just need to find a local organic store.
ETA: especially when your body needs protein, sometimes the soy just doesn't cut it

Re: (sorry, another..) Vegetarian Question.....
Stonyfield Farms has REALLY good organic dairy products!!
I find that eating cheese, eggs and yes, fish, makes my life a lot easier. I can find something to eat at almost every restaraunt or gathering, I can stay healthy, etc.

ditto for me.
I am a vegetarian for health reasons alone. Of course I am a little happy I choose it for moral reasons but it wasnt my main reason at all.

Re: (sorry, another..) Vegetarian Question.....
I'm a pesce vegetarian who doesn't eat lobster or crab, doesn't drink milk and won't buy leather bags
I seriously love cheese way too much to consider veganism.

Re: (sorry, another..) Vegetarian Question.....
I have a modified diet... by choice. I don't eat dairy products - I try to limit them as much as possible because the conditions are just as inhumane at many of the dairy farms. I do eat open range eggs, and I also eat fish, which is hypocritical, I know, but I just don't have the same empathy for a fish as I would for a mammal... no meat whatsoever.

Seriously. If I cut out fish and eggs, I would have a serious problem eating, no joke. DH and I have a hard enough time as it is finding restaurants where we can eat, and I swear I've lost 20lbs in the last 3 years only because my options are so limited these days!

Re: (sorry, another..) Vegetarian Question.....
What about organic products? I get all my dairy at a local farm that has grass fed cows (well they don't, but the people they buy from do)
Which means that they are not given hormones AND they are let out to graze in pastures and not stuck in bins and fed grain, like companies like Horizon
