but what is the benefit of a crock pot? I don't have one and have limited kitchen storage space? Does it cook faster or healthier? thanks

Re: sorry for the stupid question
yup- exactly!! it just makes cooking easier- you just dump a bunch of stuff in the crock pot in the morning, turn it on, and dinner is done when you get home from work you can make all sorts of things- roasts, chilis, soups, chicken dishes, etc...

I don't use mine alot because DH and I are picky eaters and don't like most recipes, BUT it makes the most amazing corned beef, it's so tender. That's really the only thing I make in mine.

Does anyone worry about leaving it on while you are gone all day? I'm the kind of person hat unplugs the toaster when not in use so it scares me to leave something heating up all day...am I being silly?

Re: sorry for the stupid question
We use it a lot for corned beef and to make sauce... Boneless pork chops with BBQ sauce in it are amazing- they just fall apart! Besides it being easy it also makes meats really really tender. They're not too expensive- and totally worth it!
